CONTEXT

As CHSS approached the mid-point of their ambitious 10-year strategy they wanted to know what people really thought of them.

Who?  Well... Everyone - competitors, partners, funders, staff, volunteers and people on the street.

Baroudeur delivered an extensive programme of engagement activities and a subsequent report outlining a set of recommendations for the next five years.

CHSS loved it so much they asked us to stick around and help deliver our recommendations.  We're now leading a series of development projects designed to improve the skills, knowledge and capacity of colleagues within CHSS, with a focus on stakeholder engagement.

CONTEXT

An ambitious concept, a tight timescale and a very specific ask from a prospective funder.

Save the Children's Scotland team were deep in the process of assembling a large-scale funding bid for a multi-year project.  The funder specifically asked for a Theory of Change and they reached out to Baroudeur for help.

Baroudeur delivered an in-person workshop for the bid-development team, leading them through the components of an effective Theory of Change.  We also worked with our pals and regular collaborators at Pretty Good Studio to make sure the final output was as aesthetically appealing as it was detailed and coherent.

Did they get the funding?  Of course they bloody well did.

CONTEXT

The voice for Scottish mountain biking, DMBinS is a part of Scottish Cycling and has a remit to energise and coordinate the mountain biking sector in Scotland.

DMBinS wanted to anticipate the future labour and skills needs of the many small and medium sized business operating in (and peripheral to) mountain biking in Scotland.  From this they hoped to chart pathways for young people into careers in the sector.

Baroudeur delivered an extensive series of research and engagement activity with businesses, education settings and public sector organisations.  Following this we developed a detailed report and visual articulation of the skills required and the most plausible pathways for young people to acquire them.

This ultimately helped DMBinS secure further funding to help get these pathways established, channeling skills and talent into the sector.

CONTEXT

Studio Idir were approached by researchers from Queens University Belfast and EastSide Greenways (the organisation responsible for delivering the Connswater Community Greenway).

They wanted to explore the Greenway through the lens of accessibility and inclusion, with a view to supporting a more diverse population to access and enjoy the benefits of using it.

Baroudeur brought their knowledge of inclusion, engagement and in particular promotion and engagement around active travel infrastructure, supplementing Studio Idir's expertise in community-consultation, design and the more nuanced demands of operating in Belfast.

Together, we engaged with the local population, in particular disabled people and their families, and delivered a set of recommendations that will help the Greenway and associated activities meet the needs of more local people.
